Pairing the Tymewear VitalPro HRM to CORE
The process for pairing your CORE sensor with the Tymewear VitalPro HRM follows the standard procedure as documented here
The Tymewear VitalPro HRM only has two available Bluetooth channels, one of which is used for pairing to the breathing sensor. When scanning for the Tymewear VitalPro HRM in the CORE app, you will be presented with two options: ANT+ and Bluetooth. Our recommendation is to use the ANT+ pairing.
Note: the Bluetooth connection to the Tymewear VitalPro HRM will either be displayed as a MAC address (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX) or as "TymeHR XXXXXX" as shown below.
CORE Sensor Placement
We have tested on the Tymewear VitalPro heart rate strap and have found the optimal position for reliable connectivity with the CORE sensor is indicated below. Left or right of the HRM transmitter module is fine. We would suggest mounting on the same side as your watch.
Garmin Connect IQ notes
Like the CORE sensor, the Tymewear VitalPro HRM connects to Garmin devices via a Connect IQ data field.
Please note that many Garmin watches limit the number of Connect IQ data fields which can be installed and used in any given activity profile. In most case this is limited to two. Newer Garmin watches offer the ability to install up to four custom data fields.
Further, Garmin limits the amount of custom data which can be saved into FIT files via Connect IQ data fields. This will likely mean that even if your Garmin watch allows the installation of four Connect IQ fields, you won't be able to use more than two external sensors. Our testing has shown a combination of CORE, Tymewear and Stryd causes one of the data fields to crash.
Battery tips
As the Tymewear VitalPro HRM has a detachable transmitter module, we recommend disconnecting from at least one of the connectors after use. This will extend battery life and ensure it stops communicating with the CORE, also saving power and avoiding any erroneous measurements. This is especially relevant if you store your HRM/CORE in a bag with damp clothes after use.
